Most contractors who search for a home services marketing agency have already been burned. The last shop promised the phone would ring, then sent a dashboard of clicks, a 12-month contract, and a website you do not own.

This page is a scored shortlist for that search. Thomas Town Digital is pick one. Duo Digital is pick two. The rest are real shops you will see on page one, with who they actually fit and who should skip them.

Thomas Town Digital publishes this list. Duo Digital is a separate trades marketing firm. The author of this page also runs paid-search work for Duo Digital clients. If a self-ranked list bothers you, skip to Go Marketing, Hook, Scorpion, or Clicks Geek below. If you want a partner who will own Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and the tracking that ties spend to booked jobs, start at the top.

How This List Was Scored

We scored each shop the way a contractor should score a pitch, not the way an SEO roundup usually does. No mystery points. No "killer design aesthetics."

  • You own the website, the ad accounts, and the data
  • The shop actually works trades, not dentists on Tuesdays and roofers on Thursdays
  • They can run Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and local SEO as one system
  • Reporting goes to booked jobs, not form fills
  • Month-to-month, or at least a clean exit with assets in your name
  • Published starting price, so you are not guessing in a sales call

Prices below are what each shop publishes. Ad spend sits on your card unless the shop says otherwise. We did not invent competitor retainers.

1. Thomas Town Digital

Best for: HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and electrical companies that want Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and local SEO run as one system, with a person on the other end of the email.

We work only with home service companies. Campaigns are built around search intent, zip-level targeting, and call quality, not a template that also has to work for a dentist. Management is a flat fee. Ad spend goes on your card. Accounts stay in your name.

Published pricing on /pricing: Grow $499/mo, Scale $999/mo, Conquer $1,999/mo. Month to month. No percentage of spend. Grow covers Google Ads, LSAs, landing pages, and lead tracking. Scale adds local SEO and GBP. Conquer adds the site.

Skip us if you want a national platform, a branding department, or someone to take a cut of ad spend and call it a partnership. Also skip us if you are shopping on price alone and will not put real ad budget behind the account. Management without spend is a report, not a pipeline.

2. Duo Digital

Best for: trades businesses doing $1M+ a year who want paid ads, a site they own, local SEO, and reporting that traces dollars to booked jobs.

Duo is a separate firm (goduo.co). They publish month-to-month terms, no juniors after the sales call, and revenue sync on every engagement. Their public fit line is $1M+ revenue and a willingness to invest at least $2,000 to $3,000/mo in marketing, not counting ad spend.

Published pricing on goduo.co: Google / Meta / LSA management from $2,200/mo. Website + local SEO $2,000/mo flat. Website + local SEO + paid ads starting at $3,000/mo. Custom-coded sites from $6,000 one time, yours outright. Local SEO from $750/mo. Ad spend on your card. No percentage of spend.

Proof they publish, not numbers we invented: Desert Springs Pools & Spas, Las Vegas, January to July 2026, $132,050 ad spend and $4,269,642 booked, on their homepage. If you want that verified, ask Duo to introduce you. Do not treat a case study as a guarantee for your market.

Skip Duo if you are hunting a $499 retainer, you want the cheapest possible vendor, or you are not ready to let them challenge close rates and ticket size. They say that on their own site.

3. Go Marketing

Best for: home-service brands that want a larger advertising shop with a dedicated industry page, not a two-person studio.

Go Marketing ranks on this query with their home-services industry URL. That is a signal they invest in the category. We do not have a published starting price on that page, so we are not guessing one.

Skip Go if you want a named founder on every monthly call, or you need a shop that only takes trades. Ask who actually runs the account after the pitch.

4. Hook Agency

Best for: contractors who want a Google-first home services specialist: SEO, Google Ads, LSAs, Maps, websites, and Meta if they want that channel too.

Hook is Minneapolis-based and trades-only. Live prices on hookagency.com/pricing: PPC (Google Ads + LSAs) from $2,000/mo, Local SEO from $2,800/mo, Meta Ads from $3,000/mo, AEO from $4,000/mo, standard website $1,000/mo ($12k over 12 months), custom website $2,000/mo ($24k over 12 months). They say you own the website. They also say they are not the cheapest shop in the category.

Skip Hook if you want management under $2,000/mo, or you want a site without a 12-month payment split. Their published starting prices say that.

5. Scorpion

Best for: multi-location or franchise-scale operators who want ads, SEO, the site, and a CRM inside one platform.

Scorpion is the large all-in-one. Scale is the pitch. The tradeoff is the stack. Confirm in writing that you own the domain, the site files, and the ad accounts, and what happens to all three if you leave. Platform shops make switching expensive even when the work is good.

Skip Scorpion if you are a single-location contractor who wants a specialist, not a platform, or you are not willing to live inside someone else's software.

6. Clicks Geek

Best for: contractors who already have a site and SEO covered, and need a paid-search specialist.

They rank on this query with a home-services agency page. Paid search is a real job. It is not the whole job. If LSAs, GBP, and the landing page are a mess, a PPC specialist will spend your money into a leak.

Skip Clicks Geek if you need one partner for ads, SEO, and the website. Ask what they will not do before you sign.

7. Hibu

Best for: smaller local businesses that want a packaged presence: listings, ads, a template site.

Hibu shows up because they sell home services as a vertical. Packaged local marketing is not the same as building branded / non-branded / competitor campaigns for a roofer in a competitive metro.

Skip Hibu if you already have spend in market and you need trade-level structure, call grading, and reporting to booked jobs.

8. 1SEO

Best for: companies that want a broader SEO shop and are fine sharing a roster with other industries.

They also publish their own "top home service marketing agencies" list. Treat that the same way you treat this page: the publisher is on the list. Ask how much of the work is actually trades.

Skip 1SEO if you want a trades-only partner who lives in LSAs and emergency-intent search every week.

How to Choose Without Getting Burned

The scoring above is the filter. The contract is the trap. Before you sign, get six answers in writing: who they take as clients, who owns the accounts, what a lead means, what happens in 90 days if it is not working, whether you can leave, and who you actually talk to after onboarding. The full list is here.

If the shop cannot explain branded vs non-branded vs competitor campaigns for your trade, or they report conversions Google inflated 2x, you are buying a dashboard. We published that inflation problem with a 10-account table: reported vs real leads.

FAQs

What is a home services marketing agency?

A shop that builds lead flow for contractors. The useful ones specialize in the trades and measure Google Ads, LSAs, and local SEO against booked jobs, not traffic.

How much does one cost?

Thomas Town Digital publishes $499 to $1,999/mo management. Duo Digital publishes paid ads from $2,200/mo and a full web + SEO + paid bundle from $3,000/mo. Hook publishes PPC from $2,000/mo. Ad spend is extra.

Specialist or generalist?

Specialist. Why a generalist usually wastes the budget.

Why are Thomas Town Digital and Duo Digital first?

Because we would send a contractor we know to those two shops first, and we said so at the top. The other six names are the ones actually ranking next to this query, scored on the same rules.

If you want a second opinion on your current setup, book a free strategy call with Thomas Town Digital. We will walk through what is working, what is wasted, and where the real opportunities are.
